Very good! 'Tender Obsession' is defined by clear-cut writing, a structured and unique plot, and an undertone thriller vibe that gives it that 'page-turner' feel throughout most of the chapters.One aspect of the writing style that particularly stood out to me was the way in which the dialogue was executed; nearly all of the interactions and conversations between the characters seem realistic, believable and dynamic. I feel that author has really captured the tone and unique feelings of each of the characters and expressed them in a way that makes them seem genuine.
There are obviously quite a few erotic scenes, even a few early on in the book (I was expecting to come across them deeper in the read, but Ko Jung is an escort, after all) but they aren't over-the-top and they do fit in with the scenes quite well. I only mention this because, for me personally, I find that there's a fine line between making intimate scenes exciting or just generally unappealing. Thankfully, Steven Todd Fisher seems to have found that perfect medium where the sensuous influence doesn't take away from the nature of the plot.

In the middle of the chaos, Muskrat suddenly finds his life intwined with the sexy Asian escort, Ko Jung, aka Muffin Won. Author Steven Todd Fisher has created an enticing page turner that captures the steamy essence of the beautiful bayou and the eroticism of two people thrust into an unlikely relationship. Fisher does a great job creating these characters—both were interesting and multi-dimensional. The love scenes, while erotic, never stray over the line of good taste. More important, the plot held my interest. I needed to see what happened next—I was invested in the characters and their situation right off the bat. Terrific novel. Fisher is definitely an author that I’ll be looking out for.
Tender Obsession by Steven Todd Fisher is one of those intriguing stories that will have you encapsulated in the political drama, mystic, and passion with a twist of deep southern charm.
Fisher has created a very unique plot involving a politician and a detective along with a host of multi-dimensional characters to spin a tale that readers like myself simply love. A true page-turner with twists and turns at every corner. Happy to say that this book was my new obsession for the night. Two thumbs up!
